Scope of work
The Small Claims Court hears matters involving disputes for civil claims valued up to $50,000 where a party is seeking money or the return of personal property. Small Claims court is a efficient and cost-effective forum for Ontarians to bring or defend civil claims quicker and at less expense than in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
The Small Claims Court also hears certain applications under the Repair and Storage Liens Act.
